5 year old visit

Noah had his visit to the doctor last Friday for his check up.  This was the first year he was really aware of what was going on and a little nervous.

Our appointment was bright and early and he did great with the vision and hearing.  The nurse asked him to take off his shirt for the doctor and he refused and went wild.  We finally convinced him to do it and when the doctor came in he was his usual chatterbox.  He was in perfect health from head to toe which is a huge blessing and not something that I take for granted at all.

I had warned him that there would be some shots at this visit because Kindergarten requires them.  Oddly he wasn't phased by the shots.  Taking his shirt off was a much bigger deal!  He got 4 Snoopy bandaids which made him very happy.

Luckily his best buddy Zoe was also at the doc at the same time so we all went out for donuts to ease the pain!

Noah weighed in at 44 lbs and a little more than 3.5feet.  He is now down to the 50-60%tile and is quite the skinny little thing.

We have noticed that his friends are far surpassing him in clothing sizes.  He was wearing 3T shorts the past few days!  He needs a 5T in pants for the length but they often fall down.  He is still in 4T-5T tops and drowns in the XS boys clothing.  We were surprised to find out that some of his best buds are in 6's and 7's already.  It is so amazing to see that the little baby everyone called butterball is so thin!

I'm sure he'll have a growth spurt coming up but I'd like to keep him small as long as possible!!!

Duck for President

Last week Noah and I ventured with his PreSchool to go to the DuPont Theater to see Duck for President.  It was very exciting for us!  Noah and I went alone into Wilmington all dressed up.  We entered the grand DuPont hotel and looked for the theater which was beautiful!  As we sat and waited I was so grateful to God for the amazing experiences I get to have with my kids.  I feel so blessed!

The show was a culmination of a few children's books brought to life to try to convince a young boy interested in video games to return to reading.  Essentially it was a series of "shorts."  The titles were:  Duck For President, Fancy Nancy, Pirates Don't change Diapers, I have to Go, Babymouse: The Musical and Alfred the Worst Monster Ever.  The website called it a "storysalad!"

Noah loved each show and he said that the Pirates who don't change diapers was his favorite.  My favorite was Fancy Nancy.

What a great day!
