A Great Thanksgiving!!!

We had a wonderful day with our family yesterday. It was a smaller crowd because my grandmother fell, my aunt was injured, and my cousins were all traveling! We enjoyed the calm nature of just having our close family. We've hosted for 5 years now and it was just a no brainer this year. We were also really excited because we got our turkey from the CSA and it was DELICIOUS! It was the best turkey I have ever had... it doesn't hurt that we baked it with fresh rosemary, garlic, salt, oranges and BACON!!!!! Our gravy was made with the drippings and white wine.... oh it was so good. Maeve slept most of the day and Noah played with his cousins the whole time, so after the food was served, it was actually pretty relaxing.

Here are some pics from the house, the kids, and Noah singing his preschool songs. Enjoy!!!

Me!!!!

This is Noah's first drawing of me!!! I love it! I kind of look like Gumby! He said that the little oblong shape under my arm on the right is Maeve.

Thanksgiving Feast

Noah's preschool had the cutest little Thanksgiving meal today. The kids dressed up and sang lots of songs, they decorated a table for Thanksgiving, said their prayers and ate a traditional meal. It was soo cute!!!

Maeve, 5 Fantastic Months

So hard to believe, isn't it?

Our magical mystical queen has emerged and made her presence known. She is a charmer for sure!!!

How can I possibly explain this little woman?

Maeve is amazing. When she is crying and sad, if she looks you in the eye, she will smile through her tears to make you smile.

Maeve is sleepy! She is now sleeping from 7 at night 7:30 AM. Dream feeds are gone and she is officially a sleepyhead. She still naps every few hours during the day for about an hour. I am ready for her to transition to a morning and afternoon nap, but she is still too sleepy for that.

Maeve is transportable (Paul's description: go lucky, adaptable). We went to the Please Touch Museum last weekend and she stayed awake without a single tear for the entire time. We went to a friend's house last night and she danced in her door swing forever and then went right to sleep in a pack and play.

Maeve is hungry! The little woman can eat a whole bowl of applesauce! She has eaten pears, carrots, sweet potatoes, yellow squash, apples, cereal and bananas. She lurches forward to eat her food and chomps it down easily. Of course, when she is not in the mood, she purses her lips and refuses everything.

Maeve LOVES her brother! She is simply giddy when when he directs his attention to her. On the flip side, Noah always says "Mommy, why does Maeve have to sleep so much?"

Maeve is a chomper! She ATTACKS her hands and it is a wonder that she still has fingers! She seems like she is teething, but there are no hard bumps in her mouth. She is constantly drooling and is always chewing on something.

She's a little thing, but sweet as can be.

Her hair is lightening a little bit and sometimes she looks more like Noah than she did. She is talking up a storm and just babbles away. There's so much more to say, but it will just have to wait!!! We love you Maevey-gravy!
