Tag?

Last night Noah asked Paul to play tag.  Paul said sure.  Noah said "I'll be the beaver and you be the wild boar, Ready? GO!"

Paul just looked at me and laughed.

Maeve, 9 months

My sweet little girl is 9 months old!!! Three more months until she hits the big 1!!!

Maeve is the sweetest, happiest little girl.  She loves her big bro and her family and she is just thrilled to be a part of our life!  At least that's what I guess from her giggles and grins.

She continues to smile a lot and now chuckles heartily and claps when she is excited.  She is grumbling and moaning a lot more, trying to communicate with sounds.  She is mobile, but not crawling.  She can get up on all fours, lunge, army crawl, roll, and make her way across the room.  She is less pleased to be sitting still than just a few weeks ago.  Her new favorite thing to do is to take whatever Noah has.  He is very good about it so far and just thinks she's silly, but I'm sure it won't be cute for long.

She is eating everything and anything, but prefers real table food to anything mashed or pureed.  She eats bread, strawberries, mangoes, bananas, peas or anything we're eating.

She has just recently fallen right into her brother's sleeping pattern at this age which is one long morning nap (about 10-11:30 or 12) and one long afternoon nap (about 1:30-3) and then a catnap before dinner (5-5:30).  She's down for bed at 7 and amazingly doesn't wake up until at least 8 in the morning.  She is always the last one up in the house.  Noah never slept that late in the morning and still doesn't!  She however, does not instantly fall asleep in the car and sometimes struggles to fall asleep in a pack and play.  Give and take, I suppose.

She has recently begun to struggle with strangers and will not stay in the nursery or in the babysitting at the YMCA.  This is pretty normal for this age, however.

She is also putting a lot more weight on her feet and can hold on to things standing up.  I know the day is coming soon when I walk into her room and she is standing in her crib.  (Boo!)

I feel pretty good about the stage we are in.  It is fairly easy to go places and she is pretty easy going and happy.  It removes so much anxiety to know that you can go out in public without a melt down!

Here are two videos of our little girl.   One is her yoga routine and the other is her trying to steal a book from Noah.  Enjoy!
