Easter 2009

We had quite the Easter celebration -- it seems that all holidays are a production around here!

Saturday we headed to my aunt's house with my dad's side of the family. Noah was the star of the day. Almost everyone there brought him a basket and filled eggs. It was raining so they hid the eggs all over the living room. Most of them were filled with money and he made out like a bandit! I guess that's what happens when you are the only kid in the family (I'm the next youngest person on that side of the fam!). We all had a fantastic brunch with yummy crab quiche, fingerling potatoes wrapped in bacon and hash brown casserole!

Easter Eve, Nana came and stayed with us and Noah got another basket filled with more eggs, more candy and more money! He also got lots of little Noah sized toys.

Easter morning I was out the door before anyone was even stirring to be at church by 6:30 for the Sunrise service. Noah and Paul joined me around 8 for breakfast. We hung out until Sunday School at 10 and just enjoyed the morning together. After worship we headed to Nina's house for Easter Lunch. It was yet another great meal with all of the perfect things including a "freezer box" cake which is like a homemade ice cream cake -- YUM. Noah played forever with his cousins which he absolutely loves to do. We met Nina and Chris's new dog Winnie as well.

Though Noah was dressed in a stunning little suit with a turtle tie, by the time we took pictures he had already melted and was simply not interested. Here is the best smile we could manage:

Of course, he smiled for Martin, his favorite cousin!

We then finally headed home after a very busy weekend. We were relaxing with all of our baskets and we remembered we hadn't given Noah our Easter basket yet! We filled his eggs with little animals and pennies and he was thrilled with that.

It certainly is hard to teach a child simplicity when he is so incredibly loved and people want to shower him with affection! No one was dramatic in their gifts, it's just that so many people gave them! We are so blessed by all of the people that love us and more than that, we are blessed to worship the Risen Lord!!!! Happy Easter!
