Monsters and Pajamas

As with many public schools, Noah's school is not permitted to celebrate Halloween. The new principal this year offered instead to make it a school wide pajama day, complete with breakfast for lunch, reading stations, and all sorts of great reading activities. Each child was allowed to wear pajamas, slippers and bring a stuffed animal.

Noah and I picked the perfect jammies and then he wanted me to get a dragon stuffed animal out of storage for him. Of course, this wasn't a possibility for us in our current situation. So, I asked him if I could make him an animal to match his pajamas. He drew a monster and we put it together!!!

He named it monstery and he has been toting it around ever since it was done.  It certainly isn't perfect but he loves it so that is all that matters.

Maeve also wanted to participate so we dressed her in pj's and slippers and made her a monster too, which she calls Cutie Pie (but it really sounds like Cooty Pie).

The monsters have become quick favorites.  They go in the car with us (and have to be buckled).  They sleep with us.  They have a special chair in the living room... And I'm so glad!
