Play Time

Every day when I pick up Noah we have a few hours alone of random play time. If you really want to know the details (and I know you do) today Noah and I came home, had a snack and then he went on the potty!!! I was so proud of him (how weird am I?!). When we came into the living room to play, he inisisted on playing in the bookshelf (I know it's not safe) and he was trying to put the Mr. Potato parts on his body (this is him trying to put the feet on himself. Of course shortly after this he kicked in the shelf above him and all of his puzzles and the shelf fell on him to which he yelled at the top of his lungs PUZZLE! Adorable.

Free Weekend at the Beach!

Paul and I decided to attend a retreat at the beach last weekend. It was mandatory for me, but then the church paid for Paul and childcare was free! The hotel was on the beach and it was a great time. Noah loved the sand and the ocean --- he just wanted to go in though! It was a fantastic time for all of us.

Growing so quickly

Today I had a clergy lunch meeting and one woman brought her granddaughter who was 8 weeks old. I held her at 11 lbs and I thought it was a featherweight. I can't believe Noah was so much smaller than that. And now he is so big! Everything is changing so quickly and it makes me sad... so, i decided to capture "today" Isn't he sweet?

Sushi

Wow!!! Last night Paul and I got Sushi. Noah had already eaten dinner. But, he loved the chopsticks so we got him a set of his own to play with. Well, he stuck one right through a piece of sushi and started eating it!!! He ate an entire Philadelphia Roll (which is fully cooked) and he gnawed on some other ones. When the sushi was all gone, he kept sticking his chopsticks in Paul's soy sauce which was loaded with Wasabi and just eating that! Noah is surely our son....

CHEEEEEESE

ok, so we taught Noah to say "cheese" when he smiles but he takes it so overboard that he looks RIDICULOUS. He squints and pushes his teeth out so he looks like a chipmunk. He looked adorable this morning before school so I tried to get him to smile but it was a pathetic attempt. any suggestions?

An "ordinary" night out...

Paul and I headed to my cousin Justin's 30th birthday party in Trappe last Saturday night and we really had a nice time. Paul and I really enjoyed feeling like we were going "out" like the old days. My parents watched Noah and let him eat pizza and stay up late -- what are grandparents for!? It was so nice though... it felt sort of normal or ordinary... i have the best husband in the world.
