In April, Noah's class took a mini field trip to the pond behind their school for an adventure called Pond Day. They have been learning about different habitats in nature and how ecosystems interact. The children made their t-shirts, donned their mud boots and trekked to the pond. There were several stations where they could guess what lives in the pond, on the pond, or around the pond. They had to organize the life cycle of frogs and play leap frog. They drew a landscape of their perspective of the pond and of course the most exciting station was digging in pond mud! One teacher would scoop out a net of mud and the kids could dig through it to find tadpoles, baby dragon flies and other creatures. They even found one frog. It was a really neat day for the kids to have some hands on learning. Of course Noah dove right in with no fear!!!
