Chatty Cathy

Here is our little Maevey-gravy. She is a talker for sure!!!!

Here's another video... sorry for the wrong angle!

A Day in the Park

Everything is changing dramatically right now. Maybe someday I will learn to make slow changes, but probably not. Friday was Noah's last day at George Fox School and I was soooo sad. I loved it there so much and I loved their environment and philosophy. I told him on Wednesday that he only had one more morning there and then we would go to a new school. He asked if he would have a new teacher and I said yes. I was waiting for him to be sad and say he didn't want to go. Instead he said "Ok, Mommy, I will teach them all of my songs."

Thursday Noah had his Meet the Teacher Event at Oxford Presbyterian Preschool. He was a little shy but it went fine. The rooms are beautiful and everyone is so nice. We are also so excited because a lot of our friends are going there two. Noah has two very close friends in his class and another 4 or 5 friends in other classes. A bunch of the moms and kids went for a picnic after the open house to sadly celebrate the end of summer.

Noah had a blast at the park because he was with his besties. It was adorable though because all of the kids were so obsessed with Maeve and she entertained them for quite a while.

Noah wanted to carry our picnic basket because Clare was carrying her mom's bag. Don't they just look like an old married couple? Noah would seriously sell his soul for this little girl....

Maeve 10-11 Weeks

My little girl is growing oh so quickly!!!

She had her two month appointment this week which was a little late.

She was 12 lbs even which is 70%tile for weight
Her head was 25%tile and length was 22 in at 25%tile. This is dramatically different from her brother who was 110%tile for everything!

She still has acid reflux. We tried to lay off the meds for a few days but that was a NIGHTMARE and she started vomiting up everything. Needless to say that made everything clear for us that she does indeed have reflux. At the beach her thrush came back a bit so that was disappointing but we are back on the Genetian Violet which makes everything purple, but seems to help.

Overally she is a pretty routine baby and generally happy. She talks up a storm and smiles the biggest, widest smiles ever. When it is naptime, however, she needs her nap immediately and goes beserk until she falls asleep. She is still very dependent on her peanut sling and falls asleep there instantly.

As for nighttimes, I still can't complain. She goes to bed at 7 or 8 and we wake her once. She usually makes it until 4 or 5 in the morning and then sleeps again until 8 or so in the morning. I would really like to see her make it from 10-5 or 10-6 but I'm too sleepy to work on it with her. If I could motivate myself to get up at 5 we would have no problem, but alas... I like sleep. At barely 12 lbs I feel like she needs a few more lbs to make it the whole time without waking.

She is much more alert than before and loves to watch us or Noah do anything. She is getting a little better in the car seat but certainly isn't loving it at all!! Noah continues to be an awesome big brother and always wishes Maeve wouldn't nap so much!!! I don't agree!!!!

OCMD 09

All summer long Noah was asking to go to the beach. We didn't make any promises because we knew a new baby was coming and we didn't know how we would adjust. As the summer went on we decided it would be a good idea. However, my new job started in August and Paul's vacation turned over in September so we tried to figure out a good time.

We settled on just 2-3 days in Ocean City... just so Noah could see the ocean and play in the sand. It was cheap and close.

We headed down Sunday and got there in time for check in. We all headed immediately for the beach because it was really nice out. Noah and Paul and my dad went in the ocean but it had really strong currents. Noah's pants started to fall down because they were completely filled with sand in the lining. We headed in after a while and then walked to dinner. We did a cursory tour of the boardwalk and headed home to bed.

Monday morning we woke up to overcast skies and light rain... boo! It was supposed to clear up but never really did so we decided to try the indoor pool at the hotel. It was a great idea and we all had a lot of fun (except grumpy Maeve!). We cleaned up and headed to the Boardwalk for the day.

It was amazing because we really crammed a week's vacation in two days! On Monday at the Boardwalk we walked around, got a balloon, Paul won Noah a tiger, we ate pizza and french fries, got ice cream and caramel popcorn. Noah and I bought matching tye dies and we all crammed into a photo booth. We played in the sand by the boardwalk, chased seagulls, and flew kites. After a nap we headed to a crab restaurant and then to do all of the carnival rides. The place was empty because it was cold and late in the season and so Noah didn't have to wait for any rides and he loved all of them. He went on his first roller coaster and then got to pick a duck out of the pond to win a prize. My mom got cotton candy so he got to try some of that as well.

We woke up Tuesday and the sky was magnificent.

I was up early and I was giddy at the fact that we were at the beach as a family and that Noah would get to play in the sand that day. Everyone took FOREVER to wake up and we finally headed to the ocean.

Of course, the wind was outrageous and literally blew everything over. Maeve was covered in sand and our tent couldn't event get set up. We rented an umbrella and stacked our things up and still we literally blew over. The boys tried to play for a while but it was impossible to make a sand castle.

So, after about an hour we headed back to the hotel to just play in the pool, which was also frigid.

After all of this we plopped in the car and headed home (of course after stops to get Noah 2 promised hermit crabs and to get Paul 2 promised growlers of Dogfish Head Beer and to get us cones of Kohr brothers one last time.....)

It was a wild few days but it still made me so happy!!!!!

Way too early....

We went to visit our dear friend Amy in Jamison, PA on Thursday and when we were headed home the boys in the car noticed this "colorful" building. Asher said "Mommy can we go to the pretty house?" Maybe someday, but hopefully not!!!!
