Awwww...isn't he cute? For Noah's 3rd birthday we decided to focus on Monkeys. He absolutely loves Curious George and still loves all animals in general. Last year we did the barnyard animals and so we found the name for this guy who has monkeys. As it turns out he runs a rescue for 11 monkeys who have been abused or left behind. He brought a capucin monkey to the party and it was a HUGE hit!!! The monkey was named Abby and was about a year old. Her mother refused to feed her at birth and left her to die, so she was rescued. Abby was awesome and so friendly. She climbed all over the kids and played on the swingset with them and even went down the slide. Noah was so patient and focused and absorbed every minute of it. He even got to feed her a bottle!!!
Each child got a chance to let her climb on them and she tried to grab barettes and food right from the kids.
The monkey stayed for about an hour and a half and then the kids just played for a while. It has been raining nonstop here but God provided a few dry hours for our party and we were very grateful!
We had bananas everywhere, fruit kebabs, a monkey cake, cupcakes, tropical trail mix, peanuts, banana runts, banana punch, and lots of other food. Here's Noah blowing out his candles...
It was a great day for Noah and I'm so glad he loved it. We made the trade off to do this instead of buying lots of stuff for games and goody bags. We didn't have any character items and no plastics. Each child got a homemade CD with songs like Bananas in Pajamas and Monkeys on the Bed as well as a home made Mommy and Me Banana Bread Mix.
Today Noah was telling everyone that the monkey lives at our house... it was pretty funny. His three year old imagination has him telling lots of tall tales these days!!!!!

Great post! Now I know what the mix is for...are the chocolate chips to go in the bread??? Somehow our bag didn't have a CD...so if you have an extra I'm sure Cora would love it...if not that is okay! Love you and hope you recovered and are well rested!
How fun!!!! What a great idea Steph! So glad to hear it was a rescue monkey :)
In that first picture, which one is Noah? I can't tell ;-)
